4 Tips For Printing A Brochure
Brochures are used to help introduce your brand to prospective buyers. From marketing products and services to detailing programs and memberships, custom brochures and pamphlets educate and inform your target audience. With our selection of paper stocks, they can be sleek and inventive. At Premier, we can help create a designer tri-fold, a brochure mailer, or explain the difference between a Z-fold and a half-fold.
- Planning Brochure Content –. Plan your brochure text and create a draft of everything you want to share in your brochure. It’s best to keep it clear and simple. Include your company logo and name so customers make an association with the brand. The next step is to present your message and offers in detail. People like brief content. Use headlines and subheadings so that readers with short attention spans can skim through the content.
A digital soft proof is available for review so that you can double-check the project’s content and format for changes before printing starts.
- The Cover – Selecting the opening image and design for the cover is important. A central image that immediately conveys what your product or service has to offer. Your brochure cover should be consistent and align with your overall brand. Use your company’s branding colors and keep the font clean and clear, you want it to represent your brand’s personality. Use 300 dpi images for good resolution.
- Folding Options and Brochure Size – Find the fold that best fits your design. Tri-fold is the most commonly-ordered fold. This fold is ideal for communicating a lot of information. Gate Fold has 3 panels, the covers fold in to meet the middle, hence the “gate” name. A Z-fold gets its name from the way it looks at the top. Z-folds are most commonly used for menus, explanations of products or services, vacation package information, etc.
- Paper Stock- Once printed brochures, tend to have a longer shelf-life than other marketing materials, so the paper stock you choose is important. We offer them in text, and cover weights, 100# coated matte/ gloss text & 80# coated matte/gloss cover are the most common paperweights. 100# text works with all brochure folds, while 80# cover is best for folds with four panels or less (trifold, closed gate, four-panel accordion, etc). If you choose a cover stock and you have heavy dark colors, we recommend adding selecting a UV coating or laminate option to better protect the ink from scratching.
